Didn't think I would wake up on the beach in a truck camper, but that's what I recently did with my sweetie and our two friends Mar + Blaine!
Mar and Blaine recently bought truck and a 1995 camper. Next summer they will be heading back North to Minnesota, Mar's home to pursue a life near family. Sadden that they leave us but extremely excited for them to adventure onto a new lifestyle. From beach bums to lake lovers, we can't wait to see the travels they take with this camper up North.
This trip was a quick one- only because it was a soft trip to get this camper tested out and to know what kinks needed to be fixed. We left Saturday evening and headed about an hour north to San Onofre, into the Marine Base.
The whole trip went smoothly, except for the hour long wait to get our food at Sonic because right before us was a party bus of Marines ordering the whole kitchen and then forgetting about us. How do you miss this big camper in your parking lot lol... Well the women working were sweet about and we totally understood the craziness. Especially because it was 30 mins before closing that we showed up.
Surprisingly, we landed a spot in the parking lot right in this sweet lil corner. We didn't pay a dime to wake up with the sunrise or get kicked out during the night.
The boys and Mar went out to surf early morning, while I set up camera to take photos of them. We spent most of the morning beachin, had some lunch made by our amazing chef, Arnaud and then chilled under the awning of the camper for a bit.
Local Marines and vets complimented the rig as they passed by and one stopped to ask if we ever headed down to Baja to explore the surf there. Well, now we are planning to take this down south in the winter time to explore serene surf spots of Mexico when all the kinks are fixed.
Thank you Mar and Blaine again for inviting us, we can't wait to explore more in your RV.
